Phantom's Past

Shadows
session 6

The team has successfully aided Lt. Commander Raka Nyada and Admiral Fultor in routing the RFM and Red Dragon contingent that was attempting to scuttle the Ironan navy. Now Admiral Fultor can move his ships and sailors safely out of the harbor and assist from there while Lt. Cmdr Nyada can take his forces and clean out the rest of the city, securing the market and supporting the defense of the main gate. He even offers to swing in to check on the Phantom Storm Guild as there are rumors one of the Flash brothers took a contingent to attack it. Admiral Fultor himself offers his gratitude and any aid he can in the party;s future endeavors… a powerful friend to have made.

- With that the team makes their way to the castle. Reports are circulating that it is under heavy attack and the emptiness and destruction of the city as they get closer suggest those reports are accurate. At one point the group finds a burning building with a small child trapped inside.
- They decide to save her and immediately send Garen in. Elsan throws him through the top window then lifts the crossbeam blocking the doorway enough for Zeref to slip inside.
- Garen is able to make his way to where the little girl is hiding and begins coaxing her out.
- Zeref dodges fires and debris, passing underneath the girls room and into the Kitchen, where he finds a boiler stove about to explode.
- The floor caves under the little girl but Garen is able to make a sliding dive and hold onto the crumbling floor. Though Zeref had left the room Elsan, with Theo’s help, managed to lift the beam high enough for Duello to enter. Luckily he was directly beneath Garen and Clary, as she introduced herself, when they began to fall.
- Duello attempted to catch them and, though he protected the girl, lost Garen into the fire.
- Elsan now entered the room, leaving Theo to hold up the beam, and grabbed the little girl while Duello tried to put Garen out. Just then Zeref came sprinting by, grabbed Garen, and shouted that a hasty exit would be preferred. Duello obliged.
- Elsan and Zeref tackled there way through the beam, collapsing the foyer and trapping Duello inside. Luckily Theo acted quickly and used his newly acquired thunder sword to bash the rubble away, saving Duello.

- Now the team was forced to once again split up. Clary, the 12 year old half-elf girl, had lost both her parents and (worse yet) didn’t really know that yet. So Duello and Elsan attempted to confront her (Duello gave her a feather off his hat for her hair). Zeref insisted that someone take her to Dav’s shop where civilians were beginning to gather. Duello volunteered.
- Zeref, Elsan, Theo, and Garen went on to the castle and discovered it in turmoil. A boat approached via the waterway gate and apparently unloaded goblins and other reinforcements. The team recognizes the now familiar white and gold designed outfits of some. Meanwhile RFM and Red Dragon troops, with these new reinforcements, have managed to break through to the courtyard of the castle. A battle between the rebel combine and the guard now rages.
- The team has no choice but to fight there way through the fray to reach the castle gates.
- Elsan and Zeref lead the charge, destroying goblin and other warriors alike. Theo, not accustomed to close quarters fighting has a harder time but managed to get through unscathed.
- Garen decides to wait for a better opening to clear before using his superior speed and agility to swing through, for now aiding his allies with precision crossbow strikes.
- On the other side Elsan and Zeref, who arrived first, find Shannon facing down a massive troll.
- A space has cleared around it, for a multitude of reasons, and it stands between the party and the gate.
- Upon seeing Zeref, Shannon inquires about Duello then quickly announces Vicnan managed to enter the castle his vanguard.
- Zeref rushes past Shannon and quickly takes down the troll in an impressive display. With that Shannon tells them to save the royal family, she needs to stay here to keep command of her troops. The party (minus Duello) agrees.

- Duello has meanwhile shared a bit with Clary, comforted her, and successfully delivered her to Dav and Loradove. By the time the rest of the team enters the castle he is arriving at the battle in the courtyard.

- Meanwhile, in the main hall, the rest of the team have run into a problem.
- Standing before them are the five members of Theam Rationem- a team of warriors working for whoever is running the white and gold organization.
1.) Alasgil Crick: The boisterous leader of the enemy with an icy grip
2.) Clandus Holf: the Chauvinistic Dragonborn with strength of a giant
3.) Audre Crick: The hot-tempered woman, quick and sharp
4.) Reeric Nais: the forever bored Hexer wielding and enchanted Scythe
5.) Cassus Brown: the sarcastic knife wielder with a peculiar power

- 4 vs. 5 Alasgil announces that they can not pass. The bodies of the Honor guard strewn about the room. The battle begins.
- It is a ong and strenuous battle.
- Elsan and Theo take turns attempting to fight Audre and Clandus who move like a well oiled machine. Clandus revealing to the present party that Elsan is actually a woman.
- Meanwhile Zeref goes toe to toe with Alasgil until Elsan manages to trap him in veins.
- Garen and Cassus battle though Cassus seems to be on the losing end quickly resorting to his more pwoerful moves. Garen’s quickness and own skills overpower him.
- Reeric moves slowly about the room attempting to hex any of his enemies, but not having much luck.

- Then Duello manages to undo the spell Reeric placed on the door and enters the battle, though Reeric quickly sealed it again. For a moment the fighting stops as Duello calmly marches over towards Alasgil and Zeref (ignoring an enraged Audre) and has a quick introduction with Theam Rationem’s leader. Then, the battle is renewed.

- Zeref continues to fight the now free Alasgil while Duello attempts to fend of the combined attacks of Audre and Reeric.
- Elsan now finds herself in a one on one battle with Clandus- both are equally skilled combatants.
- Garen has Cassus nearly beaten, the elf now attempting to create as much distance as possible.
Theo, now not under direct attack s able to use his lance of faith to blast at various opponents on the battlefield. As well as heal his allies whenever he can.

- Eventually Theam Rationem’s members are pushed to the edge of their ropes.
- Audre attempted to gain the high ground by jumping on a chandelier and attacking from above. Many attempts to dislodge her failed until Theo used his wings to reach her. He then blasted her off the chandelier and out the broad window.
- The Chandelier fell nearly crushing many people. Reeric appeared to be crushed but it is reveled later that he managed to open a small portal just before impact and escape.
- Zeref backed Alasgil against the wall and defeated him. Though Zeref left him alive he did scar him badly
- Garen and Duello finished off Cassus
- Elsan Managed to score a fatal hit on Clandus, dropping the dragonborn to the ground-dead
After his miraculous attack against Audre the massive amount of access to religious energy allowed unlocked several memories form Theo’s past life. Though painful he remembered some things.

- The team, battered but still moving, now reaches the top of the stairs where a barely living Honor Guard informs them that the King ordered them to protect Wendy, his only child and heir. She escaped the battle to the north tower but a man is now after her. He is powerful.
the team decides to follow the kings, apparent, wishes and go rescue Wendy from this lone warrior. Relying on their own strength to beat him.

- At the base of the tower they discover Gilli and Hallkel. Both injured and possibly dead. Gilli gives Duello, the only one who knows what it is (Elsan couldn’t remember), a potion of life. A potion so powerful it can bring the recently deceased back to life. They then ran up the tower

- There they found Belial. An apparently fearsome warrior despite his blindness. He had backed Wendy into a corner and then spoke to the players.
- Through the conversation the party discovered that Belial somehow knew Theo and murdered his wife. He also was cursed by the God’s with his blindness.
- He intends on destroying the God’s and instituting a new world order under his rule.
- He is partnered with Uria in this endeavor
- They are looking for a specific set of crystals- Belial found one in the princesses tiara and now has it.
- For some reason Uria and Belial need the crystals and Zeref in order to complete their plan.
- Belial seemed to be entreating Zeref with promises of a new and peaceful world, one Zeref always wanted.
- They also learned that Belial is very powerful.
- Wendy attempted to stop Belial before he fled and was promptly stabbed in the gut. Though Theo healed her up well enough afterwords.
- When Belial made his escape it was revealed that his silver cape were actually wings and Belial must actually be an Angel of some sort.
- Duello confronted Zeref Briefly while Elsan picked up Wendy. The team then prepares to leave the tower.

Battle of Rwendia
session 5

- The team arrived at the city only to find that it was under attack. Quickly they charged to the east gate where they found Commander Shannon Urugoth and a company of guard attempting to reach and close the gate.
- While the team battled against the men on one side Shannon and her men were able to reach the gate and secure it.
- Duello and most of the others made it inside the city before Duello ordered the chain cut, believing the enemy reinforcements to be closing to quickly.
- Theo was still outside but managed to glide under the gate, though his wing was damaged in the process.

- In the relative calm Shannon quickly explains the situation to the team. Vicnan Arroway, with support from the Red Dragons, launched his uprising just after the King announced the team as hero’s.
- Now Captain Gellentara was desperately leading his men, and loyalists, to the front gate while Shannon attempted to take the east gate. Lt. Commander Nyada, who the team hadn’t met yet, was leading a force to retake the harbor and assist the legendary Admiral Fultor. The rest of the forces were stationed to defend the castle or scattered throughout the city, separated when the attack began.
- As Shannon explains she is interrupted by a report that the waterway gate, a damn like canal system that allows boats to pass through the river running through the center of Rwendia, was overtaken by a company of Elves and Goblins.
- Shannon runs off to rally a defense at the castle since all the other officers are either dead or busy, leaving her men at the gate.

- The team decides that the first thing on their priority list is to check on the markets. Many have friends and mentors there and, being the upper class part of the city, it is most likely under brutal attack.
- Arriving at the markets they, sadly, find that their assumptions were true. RFM troops are scattered throughout the street battling shop owners and what was left of the 10 or so Guard stationed there.
- Leon Flash and Iannon Raftery seem to be leading the battle but, after intense fighting, both are defeated by Loradove and Duello (respectively).
- The rest of the team overpowered the RFM rebels and Theo healed old Eileris Seaskipper, who left thanking him. (no way that’s helpful later)

- In the aftermath the team debates over whether to go to the guild or up the street to the battle at the harbor. Duello and Garen admittedly argue that the guild is a priority and insist that, while it may survive as a whole, they could lose many friends in the process.
- Zeref and Theo argued that the guild knows how to handle itself and is filled with many capable warriors including Zanfire, Lurksur, and even Mareak and his crew. As the so called “hero’s or Rwendia” they had a responsibility to everyone in the city. They needed to secure the harbor because, if left unattended, it could easily spill back into the markets they worked hard to secure.
- Elsan remained relatively neutral. Ceding both sides and recognizing that every battlefield had capable fighters on it, instead he argued that the best course of action would be to reinforce Shannon and Wendy at the castle.

- In the end the team decided to go secure the docks before deciding on a next course of action. – Upon arrival they find it in a deadlock. RFM forces secured the center of the dock blocking passage to the ships for the sailors who were trapped in a nearby building. However, the RFM couldn’t go about scuttling the ships because Nyada’s men were poised to attack at any moment.
- The team, seeing this, decide to climb over a barricade of barrels on the left side of the battle in order to attack the RFM’s flank.
- As they do so Nyada rallies his men and charges the enemy.
- While successful for the most part the Duello managed to roll his ankle in the climb and was carried by Elsan to the front lines.
- Zeref battled a giant of a man in the meantime. Defeating him with barrels.
- The enemy routed and the battle one the team now has more decisions to make. Nyada has a force of some 40 men at this point but most likely has orders already. And battles still rage across the city

Fight or Flight
session 4

Duello and friends had made their way through the Mt. Satendama mine.
The group fought their way through and, upon entering the lower portions, discovered the traitorous Dwarf Kagoch and his personal guard attempting to enter an ancient tomb.
After a fierce battle which ended with the deaths of Kagoch and his team the party worked on solving the puzzle of the door.
Inside they found the ancient remains of Fruhand Dragonsbane, the dwarven warrior of legend who supposedly fought alongside the Gods against the Primordial Titans at the beginning of time.
Around his neck was an amulet, a blue gem glowing with a harsh light. Similar to the black amulet Duello and Zeref had encountered on a failed mission.
Zeref took possession of the amulet while Theo took Fruhand’s thunder blade.
As the group left the older tunnels they stumble across an Eladrin battling a human warrior, though the Eladrin kills the man the team was forced to destroy him. Duello took the mages fire staff and fire woven robes.
Entering the throne room the party came across Illyria Rerida, Belegar Croogy, and the small halfling Eruk Yasura attempting to gain entrance to the bed chamber of Dain Knirinvar.
Hatching a plan Duello, with his newly acquired uniform, enters the room with Zeref in an attempt to fool the warriors there into believing Kagoch needs help.
In this moment all hell broke loose. Belegar, panicked, betrays Illyria who responds…negatively, the goblins revel in the bloodshed, and the team is caught in the middle, literally.
Illyria and her forces emerge relatively unscathed, the party does the same, Belegar and his men are less lucky. Duello and Zeref manage to convince Illyria to leave them be while she hunts for the amulet.
After Illyria leaves Everyone except Zeref decide to check Dain Knirinvar’s quarters. Zeref, unsettled by Illyria’s glances, decided to wait outside.
the team finds the body of the Dain and takes the gold he was protecting, as well as his crown to prove his death.
Zeref meanwhile runs into a familiar face. A, supposed, bounty hunter in a large black trench coat, black hat, and black armor stands at the entrance of the mine.
the two have a confrontation where the man reveals he is simply a worker for the true mastermind, an old friend of Zeref’s… so to speak.
Zeref, naturally upset, blindly attacks the man. The man in black is more than a match for Zeref who, in a blind rage, goes full vamp… and still fails.
Duello arrives just then and fires his powerful chromatic orb at the man in black and accidentally hits Zeref with it. Elsan and the others arrive soon after and, with their help, are able to temporarily subdue the man in black.
they ride off in a carriage and, though followed, are able to derail their pursuers and make good on their escape.
Stopping in the cave for the night Zeref is no longer vamped out, thanks to Duello, but is unconscious. Theo has seen enough to know something isn’t right and aggressivly questions Duello. Before things escalate to violence Elsan, who had seen enough to know what Zeref is, enters the verbal jousting match and diffuses the situation.
Everything is put on hold for now, and Theo receives a vision of a Deva hiding the Amulet in the tomb of Fruhand.
As the group travels to Rwendia they see a horror before them. The town is ablaze, the sounds of battle echoing across the countryside.

Ghost Town
session 3

The party, now all a part of Phantom Storm guild, wakes up in the morning. They settle a few tabs and make their way through their mornings. Eventually Lt. Commander Shannon Urugoth of the Rwendia Royal guard arrives. She is a shifter woman who works as Captain Gellentara’s second in command. Shannon announces that the Princess wishes for a council with them and it would be unwise to refuse. Agreeing Duello and his friends go with Shannon to the castle.
While walking through the city they get to know Shannon a little better. She seems to be a no nonsense soldier type with a hidden layer of playfulness. As they march they see people in small gatherings, hushed whispers, something is wrong. Just then Dav marches out of his shop and approaches Shannon and the party, fearing the worst. Dav, misunderstanding the presence of Shannon, attempts to intervene until Zeref assuages his doubts. The party continued on.
The castle sits on the edge of a river. It’s ancient ramparts and towers make it a beautiful sight. Eventually they reach the Princess’s study where they find Wendy and Norion waiting for them. They also met Gilli and Hallkel, Wendy’s new personal guard.
Wendy and Norion, in an odd tandem, quickly explain the situation. The town got word of Wendy’s abduction and Vicnan Arroway, leader of the rebel faction in the city, is attempting to use it to show the weakness of the crown. Norion believes that they should simply deny the accusations of her kidnapping in the hopes that will assuage the people’s doubts. Wendy has another plan: She wants to announce it and proclaim the party as Hero’s of Rwendia and protectors of the city. This, she believes, will give the crown enough backing and support to prevent further uprising. After much deliberation the group eventually decides to adopt the Princess’s plan and announces team Duello as the Hero’s of Rwendia.
With that out of the way the Norion then lays out another problem that has arisen in a nearby mining town. The two explain that Mt. Satendama lies a day’s journey away from Rwendia and is home to a settlement of dwarves and (mostly) human workers. It is directly controlled by Dain Knirinvar and supplies the Kingdom of Irona with most of there Iron for weapons building. Recently it stopped sending messages and, when a scouting party was sent, they reported that the mine was attacked and lost. Norion and Wendy want the party to go and reclaim the mine. the party agrees, for a variety of reasons, but some suspect that something deeper is at work than a simple rebellion. With that the Queen offers them her own reward for saving her and Lt. Cmdr Shannon leads the team to the East Gate and supplies them with a carriage.
On the road the party discusses there previous travels, a little about themselves, and joke about Zeref’s love life. They encounter some animals and a trio of (quite terrible) bandits. before finally arriving at the Mt. Satendama mining village, home to the non-dwarven workers for the mine.
It’s a Ghost town. While death is not immediately evident there are no people outside, good or evil. Duello, Elsan, and Zeref decide to move into town on their own while Garen and Theo stay with the cart in case they are ambushed. They discovered 3 bodies in the middle of the town square before finally reaching the constables office at the end of the road. Five men are waiting there and a conflict immediately erupts. They men wish for the trio to leave and eventually threaten a young elven girl’s life to force them off. Not wanting harm to befall her Zeref manages to convince the enraged Duello and Elsan to leave for now so they can regroup and make a plan. the moment the three leave the leader of the men dispatches one of his to go get some reinforcements.
The team meets up and begins asking around town. They find a barkeep, Xankas, who’s to afraid to fight but fills them in on the events that took place, with some persuasion. He explains that an elven woman marched through town with a horde of goblins, elves, and men. While the elves and goblins marched to the mine the men stayed behind and rounded up all the non humans. The Constable and his son attempted to resist and were promptly murdered along with another local man. Now all the non-humans are locked in the constables office with the five men left to guard the town. The group leaves to continue questioning townspeople, but Duello has one last word for Xankas- he calls the man a coward for not defending his town.
In the next shop they meet two men. The shop owner, Leorin, and a vagabond customer in an all black trench coat, hat, and black armor with gold embroidery. Leorin offers the use of the goods in his shop if they would help, the man in black simply states he’s passing through but wishes them the best in their attempts.
Now fully prepared the party again splits up. Elsan and Theo are to draw out the men while Garen sneaks Duello and Zeref in the back. The plan goes off without a hitch, well except that Elsan and Theo find themselves caught between the men who are now outside and the man who came back with reinforcements. Luckily Duello marches through the building behind their leader and fights him. Zeref runs back around the side. Garen works on freeing the hostages.
All are successful. Duello through the leader, not yet dead, to an angry mob of citizens who were being led by the newly emboldened Xankas. And the old dwarf who was locked in the cell tells the party of a secret path the workers used to get to the mine. The party, after a little debate, decide to take it to try and sneak up to the mine.

Red Dragon's vs. Phantom Storm

Pretty straight forward to be honest. Thorn Riker reveals he betrayed the princess and his now holding her over his shoulder and fighting with his other hand. Horill arrived with Iannon and a crew of Red Dragon’s and is assaulting the group. Luckily Captain Gellentara, suspecting treachery, enlisted the aid of a passing Paladin- Esthamir.
The battle progresses. Duello rescues the princess with the help of Elsan and the Captain. the everyone assaults Horill while Theo attempted to defeat Iannon.
Zeref beheaded Horill
Then the crew turned on Iannon
Iannon, fearing death, blasted Theo with lightning (nearly killing him) and flees in a firestorm.
Wendy thanks the group, Norion pays them, and they leave with the knowledge that the team would be willing to help in the future.

Welcome to Rwendia
session 1

Duello sits in the Phantom-storm guild hall building a tab with the bartender, Lurksur at the bar. Lurksur, the tall and well bit elven woman, is becoming increasingly annoyed with the lack of payment. Duello admonishes that he has no money as yet another job went south for him and Zeref, who is now at the local healer. Mareak, the guilds number one fighter, suggests (rather scathingly) forming a team with the Gnome Garen. Garen, usually a loner, has been having a hard time with jobs as well.
At this point Zeref returned from the healer. Though worn out he has made a speedy recovery. Once again teased by Mareak and his team Duello and Zeref decide to team up with Garen. Mareak, seemingly surprised, leaves them for another job to fight a dragon.
At this point the daughter of the local blacksmith, Elizabeth, brings in Theoropho. Theoropho is a Deva with memory problems and Elizabeth assumed Duello and Zeref could help. It is clear to almost everyone that Elizabeth has a crush on Zeref and he on her, though nothing comes of it just yet.
The now four “man” team approaches the guild master in order to request yet another loan from the guild for basic weapons and supplies. Zanfire, a powerful but aged dwarf, gives them this last shot (just like every shot before that one) and even accepts Theo into the guild. With that the team leaves for the market to purchase weapons, armor, and basic supplies.
At the market we are introduced to Dav, the blacksmith, who’s taken a liking to Zeref as well as Dav’s two children: Elizabeth (who we’ve met) and Ian, a shy 16 year old enchanter. In the Mage store Loradove, a sudo-mentor to Duello, Sells him a mage staff at an incredibly cheap rate and even gives him a free vitality potion. With that handled the group moves to the end of the street to Seaskipper Supplies owned by Elben and Eileris Seaskipper.
At the shop the group meets the dragonborn woman Elsan who is a traveling warden. Awkwardly, the group approaches her (they think she is a guy though) about perhaps joining the new team. After prompting, Elsan agrees and now the team is born.
As the group enters the street five men exit. Alex Jackson, the man who hired Duello and Zeref on their last job plans on exacting vengeance on them. A battle soon breaks out, watched by a man in a dark cloak.
The man turns out to be Norion Gellentara in disguise, the captain of the Guard in Rwendia is searching for the kidnapped princess- Wendy Pegason. He needs help and will pay and the team seems capable. She needs to be found quickly and quietly before word reaches the city. The group accepts and begins searching.
After a while, and a hostile interaction with a local crime lord Gnome, the group decides Wendy is most likely being held inside a rival guild- The Red Dragons. Currently most of the main fighters of the guild are gone except Horril Redon and Iannon Raftery. The group decides to split up. Duello, Theo, and Elsan will cause a distraction out front while Garen, supported by Zeref, will sneak into the back.
Duello and Elsan fake a fight and Garen successfully discovers the princess inside the guild, beaten and unconscious. Realizes he couldn’t possibly move her Garen flees and retrieves the rest of the group. Despite Duello’s protests the team decides to follow Captain Gellentra’s request to speak to him before making a definitive move. He sets up a plan. They get her out, meet him at the halfway point then Gellentara and his guard will escort her back tot he castle.
Once again Duello, Theo, and Elsan attempt a distraction while Garen and Zeref sneak in back to get the princess. Duello challenges Horril Redon to a fight and, with the surreptitious help of Elsan and Theo, is able to defeat him in combat. Horril, in a rage, marches back to his office… where the princess is kept.
Garen, Zeref, and the Semi-Conscious princess are now trapped inside. Thankfully Horril has his head down in rage and the two are able to escape. I say two because Garen was caught while sneaking out and is tossed into the main hall. Barely, Garen bluffs his way out and simply walks out the front door. With that the group marches to the meeting point, again under the protests of Duello, and meet Captain Gellentara. Horril and his team meet them there because Thorn Riker, one of the Guard, betrayed them.

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
